What is azelaic acid?

Azelaic acid is an antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and exfoliating acid that not only addresses all the root causes of acne, but also has beneficial effects on hypersensitive skin. At a strength of 10%, azelaic acid reduces the appearance of pimples, smoothes the skin, calms redness, and fades uneven skin tone and spots. A real powerhouse in other words.

How does azelaic acid work?

Chemically speaking, azelaic acid is a dicarboxylic acid. If you are startled by the words 'chemical' and 'acid', don't worry: this type of acid is like a good friend. In our case, it is extracted from wheat, rye and barley. Azelaic acid acts as a mild exfoliant that you can leave on the skin. It causes pores to refine, and has a brightening and smoothing effect.

Azelaic acid also does your skin a good service by killing bacteria that cause acne and Rosacea. The acid has an anti-inflammatory effect, making your skin less prone to irritation and therefore less prone to redness, spots and pimples. Azelaic acid also gently stimulates cell renewal, so your skin heals faster and scars fade more quickly. Hear hear for Azelaic.

As if the above weren't already more than enough for a glowing report: azelaic acid works not only on top but also in the upper layers of the skin, where the acid preemptively tackles troublemakers who would otherwise cause blemishes and other skin distress. In addition to its restorative effect, azelaic acid also prevents the necessary misery.

What skin can azelaic acid do well?

It has been shown that inflammatory skin conditions such as Rosacea and acne can be effectively treated with azelaic acid. The gentle antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties of azelaic acid make the ingredient a faithful savior in skin distress. Those looking to combat premature skin aging (not all at once) would also do well to include azelaic acid in their daily skincare routine.

How to use azelaic acid

Use two to six drops of the 360° Azelaic Acid Serum in the morning and evening. Spread the drops all over the face - gently smear, or dab, just what you like. After cleansing your skin, apply the serum directly.... That's it. Easy does it.
